Agency News
We are excited to announce that thanks to everyone’s generosity we DOUBLED OUR IMPACT and met our goal of $20,000 through the Travis Credit Union Foundation COVID-19 Relief Initiative! This will be matched by the TCU Foundation and gives us an impressive $40,000+ to continue supporting our folks throughout the North Bay! Thank you again everyone!
RECtober has begun! Please join us by participating in this inaugural 10-day event that is open to EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, promoting recreation, health and wellness!
This virtual event takes place October 2nd to the 11th, where individuals and teams, made up of family, friends and co-workers, “compete” by completing daily activities for time while earning raffle tickets for fun prizes.
Walk, Run, Bike, Roll and more for a great cause while getting healthy, fit and being active.
Now is the time to register TODAY for $20, then invite others EVERYWHERE to join the fun! Every entry will receive this limited edition facemask commemorating this special event (insert Image)!
Complete details and registration information are available at www.RECtober.com
HAVE FUN and see you on the Leaderboard!
Now Open: “Flipside Thrift,” our new UCP of the North Bay Thrift Center, is open now at 6591 Commerce Blvd. in Rohnert Park. UCP of the North Bay has owned and operated multiple thrift centers for many years in Solano, Sutter, Yolo, and Santa Cruz Counties – and now Sonoma County! All proceeds support our programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
UCP of the North Bay would like to give our sincere thanks and support to the first responders and emergency personnel that are battling the current fires, risking their safety so that we can be safe. Their courage and dedication is an inspiration to all of us who work to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities living throughout the North Bay. On behalf of the entire UCP of the North Bay Community, thank you!
Cypress School Update
The Cypress team continues to support students through distance learning with innovative supports to address unique needs and challenges and explore strengths and talents. The final touches are being made to the campus to begin in-person opportunities on site soon. Only one day had air quality clear enough to offer outings this week so let’s hope for clearer skies next week. Cypress welcomes (back) to the team former Cypress aide and Speech Therapist Jaimie MacDonald.
Welcome back Jaimie!
Adult Day Program Update
Plans are in the works for a Zoom Virtual UCP of the North Bay Halloween Dance, October 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This year we are inviting participants and staff to “costume up” and get ready for an amazing time with music, dancing, and more fun surprises!
