Greetings Cypress Community,

We have successfully completed our first week of students returning to campus.  It was so great to see our old friends in real life, some of them for the first time in seven months.  I want to thank all of our partner school districts for supporting this vital opportunity for our students to better access their education in person, albeit for one day per week for the time being.  I appreciate the willingness of parents and staff to take this leap and implement our new safety procedures and strategies.  Currently, our in-person time is from 9-12 on the assigned day with the remainder of instructional minutes provided through distance learning.

As we invite our students to return to campus, we are reminded what our mission is all about.  We support individuals to live a life without limits.  Our students, like all of us, have made a sacrifice to stay home and slow the spread of this virus.  We will continue to put into practice measures that continue this goal, and teach our students how to be part of the community with extra emphasis on health and safety during the pandemic.  We will also look to Increase in-person opportunities when it is safe to do so.

It has been a journey to get to this point, and I truly appreciate our whole Cypress community keeping engaged and connected along the way.  I am filled with gratitude for the teamwork it has taken to be able to offer these opportunities.  It will take continued coordination to create and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.  Thank you all for your continued commitment in support of our school and our students.  Parents please join us for our parent meeting this Monday at 2:30.

Sincerely,

Nate Yates, Director of Educational and Behavioral Services
