Hello Cypress Families,

I was to here to open the doors of Cypress School in August 2007 and I have been here since then.  It has been an absolute pleasure to watch our students learn and grow with the help of so many wonderful teachers, staff, therapists and family members.  As some of you may already know, I am retiring as Cypress School Director on June 30, but I will continue as a part-time weekly consultant.  Nate Yates will assume my previous Director responsibilities and Joe Thompson will become the Assistant Director.

During the COVID 19 crisis and sheltering in place, we are continuing to employ all of our Teachers, Aides, and Therapists.  We are starting to consider and begin to plan for a ‘soft re-entry’ back to school hopefully for ESY and are awaiting direction from the State and local school districts.

We are unclear if we can do a soft re-entry for the summer behavior intensive June 8-19th.  We may have to continue our distance-learning opportunities for that period.  We will keep everyone updated as we learn more from the State and local school districts.

Cypress School and Behavioral Services staff and therapists are continuing to provide and modify our team solutions for our distance learning. For another way to access upcoming Zoom activities, the Distance Learning Calendar on the UCPNB website has our scheduled virtual classes listed with links.  This calendar is password protected and the password will be shared via text and email.

Laura and Nate will lead an all family ZOOM meeting this Monday, April 27, at 2:30pm.

All of our therapists are available to send emails, text and/or Facetime/Zoom. Again, if you are having any difficulty accessing your therapist(s), please connect with your classroom teacher immediately.
