Helping Participants through Personal Connection
Program Highlights
- We are celebrating our Program Leaders as part of Direct Support Professional Appreciation Week. We have a special gift for each of them to show our great Appreciation for their continued dedication to our participants as we have transitioned to remote learning. It is an honor to work with our Program Leaders, who have shown great leadership and creativity in making our virtual activities meaningful, informative and fun. We thank and honor you all!
- The September Superstar Talent Show Spectacular will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. Join us and enjoy the fantastic talents of our participants in music, dance and comedy performances.
- The Senior Adult Program is excited about the delivery of 6 Amazon Tablets to participants this weekend and as a result, are looking forward to a boost in new class attendees. Participants continue to express their gratitude to our staff for their support and daily phone check-ins while the program remains closed.
- WineBev Services added a new class to its Zoom schedule: “Our Diverse World”. Participants will explore the customs and history of other countries. Using videos, news articles and photos the participants will learn the customs, dress, education, food, music, and lifestyles of other countries and cultures. Our participants will be able to compare our country’s customs with those of other countries, providing them with an understanding of the world around them and how each culture, though different from one another, can learn and benefit from each other.
- The First Mobile Ice Cream Social was held on Tuesday, September 15th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. In celebration of five very successful months of our participants dedicating themselves to the remote learning services on Zoom, Gone For Good program staff delivered ice cream treats to all GFG enrollees throughout Solano county. We are exceptionally delighted to be a part of their continued personal and professional growth in this “new” way of learning and interacting.
- The OADS “Name that Baby” Zoom Social Gathering was a huge success. Participants and staff had an amusing time trying to guess which baby picture was who. There was such an amazing response to this activity that another one is being planned. OADS has also started a series of classes on Voting Rights and Registration. Participants are learning about how to register to vote and the importance of being part of our democratic system. Staff will be offering assistance to any of our participants who are interested in registering to vote. Programs will continue to present classes on voting rights each week leading up to the elections on November 3rd.
- For the week of September 10th – 16th, we presented 81 online classes with a total attendance of 2,132 averaging 27 participants per class. Our unduplicated weekly class attendance was Gone for Good 91%, WineBev Services 87%, OADS 81%, and Senior Program 55%. The combined enrollment for our Adult Day Programs is 257: Gone for Good 79, WineBev Services 100, OADS 47, and Senior Program 31.
