Program Highlights
- The Senior Adult Program will be delivering 5 new Amazon Tablets to their participants in September that will enable them to access to our virtual activities and classes. One participants who is moving to a different county will still able to continue in our remote learning program with the support of her Regional Center Service Coordinator. The Senior Program is assisting by providing the participant with an Amazon Tablet and coordinating set up with her new home.
- Fire safety, evacuation tactics, sheltering in place, and “Go Bag” necessities were discussed in the WineBev Emergency Preparedness Class. To celebrate the success of our Alternative Remote Learning Program, Program Leaders will provide a Mobile Ice Cream Social Distancing Drive-By Parade to every WineBev Services participant at their home next week.
- On Labor Day Weekend, at the request of her family, our Program Coordinator picked up a participant for a van ride. They practiced wearing masks, talked about safe social distancing, and picked up lunch at her favorite restaurant. Her family was extremely grateful for the needed respite. On Tuesday, September 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Gone for Good will also be doing a Mobile Ice Cream Social Distancing Drive-By Parade. Program staff will drive around in decorated vans to every participant’s home offering them ice cream.
- OADS had a surprise visit on a Zoom Class from a former staff member. Staff and participants were thrilled to see and visit with her. In the Social Gathering Class next week, participants will share their baby photos and play “Guess the Baby” game.
- For the week of September 3-9, we presented 66 online classes with a total attendance of 1,880 averaging 29 participants per class. Our unduplicated weekly class attendance was Gone for Good 90%, WineBev Services 87%, OADS 81%, and Senior Program 55%. The combined enrollment for our Adult Day Programs is 257: Gone for Good 79, WineBev Services 100, OADS 47, and Senior Program 31.
