UCP of the North Bay
Adult Day Program Update
October 9, 2020
Helping Participants through Personal Connection
Program Highlights
- It’s time to get your costume ready for the Zoom Halloween Dance happening October 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Join in with participants and staff from all of our UCPNB programs for a fun filled afternoon.
- The Senior Adult Program delivered two more tablets this week. Attendance on Senior Zoom classes has been phenomenal with the addition of participants from our other UCPNB programs. This week we were glad to hear that one of our seniors was able to move to a new home in the Sonoma county area. She will be able to continue to be a part of our Senior Outreach program via the Zoom platform.
- WineBev Services has added three new classes to its Zoom Schedule this week: Social Skills/Manners, Independent Living Skills, and Shopping Skills. These classes are designed to teach participants the skills needed to live independently and learn how to complete the tasks necessary to successfully manage life in the community.
- Gone for Good has started a new fundraising campaign to help send some of our participants to Adult Camp next year. Working with Custom Ink, we will be selling memorabilia from the Friday 3Peat Sports Show on Zoom. Items will include T-Shirts, coffee mugs, sports towels, baseball hats and masks all with the 3Peat logo. The fundraiser will run for a month beginning Friday, October 9th. Check the Gone for Good Facebook page and the UCP of the North Bay website to order. Donations can also go directly towards the Camp fund if desired.
- OADS is getting ready for Halloween with a number of themed Zoom classes! Starting this Friday, we will be showing a Halloween movie every week until Halloween. Also, the Zoom History Class will be looking at the history of All Hallows Eve, Trick or Treating and the history of costumes. Team Awesome, which is the OADS RecTober team, is doing a great job getting active for the October event. The team has their own slogan and theme song to help them get physically fit.
- For the week of October 1st – 7th, we presented 81 online classes with a total attendance of 2,120 averaging 26 participants per class. Our unduplicated weekly class attendance was Gone for Good 92%, WineBev Services 89%, OADS 83%, and Senior Program 58%. The combined enrollment for our Adult Day Programs is 256: Gone for Good 79, WineBev Services 99, OADS 47, and Senior Program 31.
