UCP of the North Bay
Adult Day Program Update

October 16, 2020

Helping Participants through Personal Connection

Program Highlights

  • A big thanks to all of our United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay Program Leaders for the variety of classes on Zoom about Voter Rights and Information and for their assistance with helping interested individuals officially register. The last day to register to vote is Monday, October 19th. Use your voice and vote!
  • The Senior Adult Program delivered one more Tablet to a Senior participant this last week. Attendance on Zoom classes reached a high of 45% on Wednesday as participants from all of our UCPNB programs attended one of our Senior Adult classes. We also welcomed another Senior for the first time to our Zoom classes. Thanks to our UCPNB donors, we will be delivering two hotspots to our Seniors who need a WIFI connection in order to join Zoom. A new class will be added on Fridays, the Senior Movie Day at 1 pm, with Halloween inspired movies showing each week in October.
  • WineBev Services delivered two more Tablets to participants this week, as well as one to our participant who moved to Sonoma County, so that she can continue on Zoom classes with us. At our Family Night on Thursday, October 22nd from 5 to 6 pm, we will be discussing changes to WineBev’s site incorporating health and safety procedures with a virtual tour of the facility.
  • Gone For Good will be hosting their next Family/Caregiver Night on Wednesday, October 21st from 5 to 6 pm. We will be showing a video of our vans that have been cleaned, sanitized and loaded with the necessary health and safety supplies required for our future re-opening. We will also explain how we will be seating and transporting participants safely to and from program.
  • OADS continued with classes that shared a number of resources that explain the propositions that are on the ballot. These resources have also been shared on the OADS Facebook page. Our Cooking Class continued to inspire our participants to share their cooking skills at home. We prepared Sloppy Joes and one of our participants created a meatless version for their family. Our RecTober “Team Awesome” was an inspiration to everyone as they worked together exercising and staying fit.
  • For the week of October 8th – 14th, we presented 82 online classes with a total attendance of 2,154 averaging 26 participants per class.  Our unduplicated weekly class attendance was Gone for Good 92%, WineBev Services 90%, OADS 83%, and Senior Program 61%.  The combined enrollment for our Adult Day Programs is 256: Gone for Good 79, WineBev Services 99, OADS 47, and Senior Program 31.
