Adult Day Program Update
December 4, 2020
Helping Participants through Personal Connection
Program Highlights
UCPNB will be presenting the Holiday Spectacular on Zoom, December 23rd beginning at 1 pm. Join us for music, holiday trivia, an ugly sweater contest and loads of fun and social time, including a visit from Santa Claus, himself!
- The Senior Adult Program had two new participants join our Zoom classes this past week. A big Thank You to our program staff who were able to deliver a hotspot to one participant and a Tablet to the other. We are now reaching 73% of our participants through the Senior Adult Program classes. Our Senior Program staff continue to support Senior participants through the daily wellness check ins and interacting with them on Zoom classes.
- WineBev hosted a program-wide Thanksgiving Extravaganza on Nov 25th from 1-4 p.m. We had live music throughout the party, an art demonstration, holiday theme trivia games, safety tips for enjoying a safe holiday, an interactive scavenger hunt, a dance contest and a cooking demonstration. We had a great turnout. At the end of the gathering on Zoom, we awarded a variety of prizes to participants from all of our UCPNB programs.
- Gone for Good has enjoyed a fun two weeks in our Zoom classes. For our participants’ convenience, we have developed and posted a visual schedule. This makes it much easier for everyone to access our classes. With the help of the GFG Program Coordinator, it has been made available to all the UCPNB programs as well. Production continues at a steady pace. In honor of the holiday season, GFG classes are sharing different traditions and activities including art, cooking and virtual social time. Program staff continue to provide needed supplies to homes and families on a regular basis.
- In anticipation of the holidays, OADS has been implementing fun and educational classes covering cultural customs, history and favorite traditions. Some of our OADS participants attended a virtual viewing of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thanksgiving morning, joining their peers in celebrating. With the assistance of staff, participants are able to do personal journaling. One of our participants has joined the work team at PRC and now has graduated into a Supported Employment position there.
- For the week of November 26th – December 2nd, (only 3 days of classes due to the Thanksgiving Holiday) we presented 57 online classes with a total attendance of 1,148 averaging 21 participants per class. Our unduplicated weekly class attendance was Gone for Good 93%, WineBev Services 90%, OADS 83%, and Senior Program 80%. The combined enrollment for our Adult Day Programs is 253: Gone for Good 80, WineBev Services 96, OADS 47, and Senior Program 30.
