UCP of the North Bay
Adult Day Program Update
August 7, 2020
Helping Participants through Personal Connection
Program Highlights
- The new UCP of the North Bay Thrift Center located in Rohnert Park will tentatively open in September. With our newest Thrift Center comes a new name, Flipside Thrift. We are very excited to serve the Sonoma Community with quality clothing and other merchandise. UCP of the North Bay owns and operates several businesses in the recycling, packaging, and thrift store industries, all of which support our programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
- Our Adult Day Programs continue to develop new classes and content for our participants to access online. Gone for Good is now teaching an Employment Training Class entirely in Spanish and they have added “Questions to Ask and Not Ask in Job Interviews” to their popular Job Skills Class that had 33 participants in attendance this week. WineBev Services is now offering three new online classes including Work Etiquette, Diversity in the Workplace, and Safety and Surroundings Awareness.
- Our Adult Day Programs are finalizing COVID-19 Site Specific Protection Plans for WineBev Services, Gone for Good, OADS, and our Senior Program that are consistent with County and State Health and Safety Requirements. OADS has finished preparing their facility for a virtual tour that will be presented during their online Family Night Meeting on Thursday, August 20 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are finding that virtual tours are very helpful when explaining the new normal for our onsite programs.
- For the week of July 30 through August 5, we presented 83 online classes with a total attendance of 1,983 averaging 24 participants per class. Our unduplicated weekly participant class attendance was Gone for Good 86%, WineBev Services 79%, OADS 77%, and Senior Program 55%. The combined enrollment for our Adult Day Programs remains at 260: Gone for Good 80, WineBev Services 102, OADS 47, and Senior Program 31.
