UCP of the North Bay
Adult Day Program Update
August 21, 2020
Helping Participants through Personal Connection
Program Highlights
- Residential Facilities, where many of our Senior Program participants reside, are increasingly requesting Amazon Fire Tablets from UCP of the North Bay so that their residents can participate in our online classes daily. This is very important as we continue to expand the numbers and types of outreach services that we provide.
- WineBev Services is helping 30 participants that need technical assistance with the Amazon Fire Tablets that were donated to them from our fundraising campaign. This requires visiting the homes, inspecting the tablets, installing necessary updates, changing tablet settings, and providing additional training for participants and family members.
- WineBev Services will be hosting their next Family Meeting Night on Thursday, August 27 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The meeting is designed to be both informative and social with games and prizes for participants and families. Family Meeting Nights have been a very successful offering across all our Adult Day Programs.
- Several UCP of the North Bay staff members and participants have been affected by the fires that are still burning in Sonoma, Napa, and Solano Counties. We have offered our facilities as shelters in the event of emergency need. Should that happen, we will provide staff support and ensure that COVID-19 safety procedures are followed. We are glad that we have the facilities available in the event of an emergency.
- For the week of August 13 through August 19, we presented 81 online classes with a total attendance of 2,046 averaging 25 participants per class. Our unduplicated weekly class attendance was Gone for Good 87%, WineBev Services 85%, OADS 79%, and Senior Program 55%. Online class participation has continued to increase at Gone for Good, WineBev Services, and OADS. The combined enrollment for our Adult Day Programs is 257: Gone for Good 79, WineBev Services 100, OADS 47, and Senior Program 31.
